Plug making

If you own a band saw, make a wooden plug as its stronger and quicker in the long run. If not, use dense blue foam and do initial shaping with a hot wire, then a rasp and abrasive paper. Cover with glass, same as you would a lost foam fuselage except you don't need such a heavy lay-up, mine were usually two layers of 4oz fabric, then fill and sand, fill and sand, fill and sand and paint, and sand and paint, and sand and paint. you get the idea, the better the finish of the plug the better your mold and all parts you pull from it.
